I have always been interested in space research and science so when I saw the advert for this job I knew I had to apply. Other than that there was not much I could really do to get into the field, just study hard and always be open to opportunities.

I studied hard and took advantage of new opportunities. I enjoyed math and science in high school and knew I wanted to do some type of engineering. After two years of general engineering courses at college, I enrolled in a civil engineering program at a university. I applied for a part-time research job working for my favorite professor. This job helped me to enroll in a master’s degree program. After that, a mentor encouraged me to apply for a PhD in satellite navigation engineering (my current job).

I took part in the Scottish Space School when I was in my last year at High School which took me to NASA in Houston. I got speak to lots of Astronauts and Engineers and that set me on the path to a career in space.

I then studied Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at University and always kept an interest in Space. Since then i’ve had lots of support from role models to apply for the right jobs at the right time.
