In September last year I watched the live video of my satellite, SSTL S1-4, separating from the launcher. This was the first satellite that I was the operations lead for during commissioning and although the following months were incredibly tough I still think back to that moment.

My highlight would have to be working at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab in California as part of my PhD. It was such an amazing experience and I worked with some really inspirational people. I was also there when the Curiosity Rover landed on Mars, which was really special.

When I was first given a project to work on completely by myself, from start to finish it felt really good because even though i am the youngest in the team and quite new to the job, they trusted me with the responsibility to do this 🙂
