  Great question! For my master’s degree I combined two existing satellite positioning techniques to improve accuracy and decrease time spent collecting data. My supervisor is now working for the government trying to implement this technique!   Now for my PhD, I’m improving positioning when the signals from the satellites travel through plasma bubbles in our atmosphere. These bubbles speed up and slow down the signals which causes errors in the range we calculate to find our coordinates. My new method will improve positioning when this type of interference happens!
